The Needham Housing Authority (NHA) is over 75 years old and manages 336 highly affordable units and over 120 Section 8 vouchers. That translates to 45% of Needham’s “actually affordable” units. The NHA manages these state and federal public housing sites:
- State
- Linden Street
- Chambers Street
- Federal
- Seabeds Way
- Captain Robert Cook
- High Rock Estates
- High Rock Homes
- Other
- Matthews House
The NHA has several significant projects underway as part of the Preservation and Redevelopment Initiative (PRI). The Linden redevelopment will replace 72 current units with 136 units in a four-story building built in two phases. The NHA and its redevelopment partner plan to apply to the state’s “One Stop” funding program for the Linden project in early November 2024. The NHA is also actively engaged in the Captain Cook & Seabeds Way Modernization Project.
